Throughout history the thought has been music was a means to draw men closer to God! However, as we look closer at this period of music we see composition created to exalt men and their social status moving from worship of the Almighty in song to the secularization of societies along with its music. The movers and the shakers who were shear geniuses in the created masterpiece in music gradually praised the accolades of men and wrote of the romantics between men and women. With this change the creation of music that is called classical, jazz and rock in which today resonates thru all aspects of everyday life helped shape society as we know it.
